Connection to Reconciliation: Economic Development Conference
Reconciliation Regina and our planning partners, the City of Regina, Cowessess First Nation, the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) and the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to co-host and invite you to attend the “Truth and Reconciliation Economic Conference” taking place March 19 to 20, 2020 at the Queensbury Centre in Regina, SK.
The Conference will highlight the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92, a reconciliation framework on business and economic development for the corporate sector. Day one of the Conference will provide the foundational underpinning of Call to Action #92 by providing meaningful and thought-provoking dialogue on strategies to support economic reconciliation. Day two will focus on highlighting successful partnerships between non-Indigenous businesses and Indigenous-lead businesses through panels and renowned, respected keynote speakers. Overall, the conference will focus on how to develop stronger and more diverse workforces, bridging the economic reconciliation gap and more effectively engaging Indigenous communities.
An additional conference highlight is filmmaker Andree Cazabon, producer of “Economic Reconciliation”, featuring an economically self-sustaining community with financially independent members, that was produced on the heels of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s final report.
